Learn wonderful new choral arrangements, and explore the beautiful power of singing together. The Brahma Kumaris retreat centre provides a gorgeous backdrop of cosy fires, vegetarian food, misty walks through ghost gums and fabulous hospitality.
Experienced singers and beginners all welcome. Youth scholarships available. Choose from residential or non-residential accommodation options.
Singing on Dyarubbin Shores
Richmond, NSW
Scheduling of this event is on hold due to the repeated flooding in the Hawkesbury region and its deep impact on our event teachers and organisers. Please consider donating to Stacy’s Flood Recovery fundraiser here.
Two days of joyful singing on Darug country with Aunty Jacinta Tobin, Stacy-Jane Etal, Rachel Hore and Suze Pratten.
The weekend features singing in Darug language with Jacinta and Stacy-Jane as well as acapella songs and harmonies with Rachel and Suze. We will be singing on Darug Country, close to the shores of Dyarubbin.
Dyarubbin is the Darug word for the Hawkesbury River.
Big Sing by the Sea
Forster, NSW
2023 dates to be advised
Worimi Elders, Forster Neighbourhood Centre and Big Sing Community, invite you to share Big Sing by the Sea – Baraya Djukal Garuwaga, a musical Worimi cultural experience where Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people sing and learn together.
Singing begins on Saturday, guided by Rachel Hore, OAM, founder of Big Sing in the Desert, and Sandra Kwa, Conductor of Wingsong and Baraya Wakulda choirs. We will sing familiar songs, learn new ones, including some in Worimi language, Gathang. All this while we form a new singing community!
Past Events
Public Singing Workshops
Blue Mountains – Lawson, NSW
December 2022
Singers gathered in the beautiful Blue Mountains for two workshops in December 2022.
We revisited some of my most popular old favourites, as well as learning some beautiful new songs and arrangements.
Such good awesome singing folk. Such a beautiful loving community. You are always with me, in my heart. People travelled from far and wide. With Welcome to Country by Stacy Jane Etal and Aunty Carol Cooper. And a secret visit from the Spooky Men’s Chorale. Thank you to everybody who came.
DRAWN IN – POP UP CHOIR
National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, ACT
19 February 2023
At a special event organised by the National Portrait Gallery audience members were invited to draw while listening to the Pop Up Choir – “with colour your instrument and line your melody as you create your own visual composition”. Watch a small snippet of artists in action while Pop Up Choir sing Sing You, one of my original songs, in the video below.
