Fundraiser Movie Night for Big Sing Inc

Be part of National Reconciliation Week 2021

Big Sing events are all about connection – bringing Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people together through a shared joy of singing and music.
From singing, sitting and talking together at Big Sing gatherings, many important and lasting connections have been made. Out of these connections, enduring friendships, co-operative projects and new choirs have been born.
Support the work of Big Sing Inc at this Fundraiser Movie Night featuring acclaimed Australian documentary Teach a Man to Fish followed by Q&A with film maker and Biripi man Grant Saunders.
ALSO a performance by Rachel Hore’s Pop Up Choir will open the event.
When: Wednesday, 2 June from 6pm – 8.30pm
Bar open from 5.30pm and tea, coffee, cake, snacks available. Food options for dinner available nearby.

Welcome to this picturesque and unknown region with a variety of award winning vineyards. Our days will be spread between singing classes in wineries and local churches, walks of 1–2 hours, a visit to a nearby historic town and delicious home cooked meals back at our Homestead every night.

Singing and walking tour in the French Alps
21 August – 1 September 2021
Join me for 12 delightful days exploring and singing in the magnificent French Alps. Our walking guides are Jo Cresswell and Dave O’Neill (who are both fabulous musicians too). This will be my second triip to France with Jo and Dave, and truly, we had the most most fantastic time. We are based near the UNICEF world heritage listed town of Briancon, in southeastern France near the Italian border. The walking is so spectacular. We will be joined at times with singers from local French choirs.
This tour is a small group (max 13 singers) so please get your deposit in early if you are interested.

Singing and walking in the Kosciuzko National Park

After such a difficult year for all of us, I invite you to restore and replenish yourself in a week of singing and walking in the beautiful Australian Alps. Join Rachel for daily singing workshops (small and Covid safe) followed by stunning Alpine walks and beautiful home cooked meals in the Lodge at the end of the day. Staff on this week also include Jo Cresswell and Dave O’Neill who I run the French Alps walking tours with. Jo has been visiting this region for decades and has great local knowledge.
This tour is a small group (max 20 singers) and limited to NSW and ACT residents only.

Two days of joyful singing on Darug country with Aunty Jacinta Tobin, Stacy-Jane Etal, Rachel Hore and Suze Pratten.
The weekend features singing in Darug language with Jacinta and Stacy-Jane as well as acapella songs and harmonies with Rachel and Suze. We will be singing on Darug Country, close to the shores of Deerubbin.
Deerubbin is the Darug word for the Hawkesbury River.

Worimi Elders and Forster Neighbourhood Centre, on behalf of Better Learning, Better Communities (BLBC), and Big Sing Inc, invite you to share the fourth Big Sing by the Sea, a musical Worimi cultural experience where Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people sing and learn together.

We are sad to say Wintersong 2021 will not be going ahead as our usual venue is unavailable. Sorry folks! Due to the ongoing COVID19 situation, workshop venues are limited. We will let you know here when we are up and running again.
Fabulous annual choral weekends of 100 plus singers, with Rachel Hore and Stephen Taberner. Two weekends to choose from. Both workshops are held at the Brahma Kumaris Centre, Leura, Blue Mountains, NSW.
Learn wonderful new choral arrangements, and explore the beautiful power of singing amongst 100 other singers. The Brahma Kumaris retreat centre provides a gorgeous backdrop of cosy fires, vegetarian food, misty walks through ghost gums and fabulous hospitality.
Experienced singers and beginners all welcome. Youth scholarships available. Choose from residential or non-residential accommodation options.
